As of March 10 2006, we have 3 confirmed current ASA members registered
for physical attendance for the ASA Simulation Saturday workshop
at the University of Florida. Drop-ins are welcome,
even if you are not an ASA member. Directions to the workshop

Information
ASA Simulation Saturday is a single-day, free
event taking place on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at the University of
Florida. Developed by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA)
to advertise its goal of facilitating simulation training for clinical
practitioners, the nationwide event will introduce new methods of skill
acquisition and refinement.
The ASA event coincides with the celebrations for the 50th
anniversary of the University of Florida College of Medicine providing
an opportunity for UF CoM alumni to attend both events.

Program
The University of Florida will provide a simulation experience in using
web-disseminated transparent reality simulations such as the Virtual
Anesthesia Machine, the Virtual Fabius GS, the Virtual Aestiva and the
new APSF-funded simulation of the 1993 FDA anesthesia apparatus checkout
recommendations for both self-study and instructional use. The workshop
will close with a one-hour session on the Human Patient Simulator, also
developed at the University of Florida.
