The VAM was reviewed in the journal "Anesthesiology" and received two awards at the 2001 ASA meeting.

Society for Simulation in Healthcare
The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSIH) is an international society that brings together researchers and healthcare providers that work in the field of simulation in healthcare.   SSIH is one of the fastest growing societies and its Medline-indexed journal Simulation in Healthcare has strong growth in circulation and impact.

The Society for Technology in Anesthesia
An abstract about the VAM was awarded "outstanding abstract" at the 2000 STA meeting. Later versions of the VAM have been presented at the annual 2001 and 2002 STA meetings.
