Requirements for the Simulations
Windows or Mac operating system with a minimum processor speed of 1.8 GHz. PCs must have the Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator web browser. For Linux or Opera web browser users, please read the help section.
These simulations are Shockwave movies (not Flash) and requires the Shockwave player specific to your web browser. It is a free download at the Macromedia website.
The VAM simulation is best viewed with a monitor resolution of 1024x768 or higher. To change monitor resolution in Windows, right-click anywhere on the desktop, select Properties, Settings, and Screen Resolution.
Once the VAM simulation is running, an internet connection is no longer required. To use the VAM simulation at a location without Internet access, read the instructions for off-line use in the help section.
Turn on your computer's speakers for audible cues.
Requirements for the APSF Workbook
Chapter 1 of the APSF Anesthesia Machine Workbook is a 60 page FlashPaper document. The Macromedia Flash Player 6 is required and is a free download.
